Conservation on the Laikipia plateau
Travel about 200 to 230 kilometres north, allowing four to five hours plus conservancy access. A first afternoon drive is possible if timing permits. Overnight in the Ol Pejeta area.
Day 3Ol Pejeta
A day for wildlife and conservation
Spend a full day exploring the conservancy and looking for rhinos and other wildlife. Specialist conservation experiences require separate booking and current access checks. Overnight in the Ol Pejeta area.

Day 4
Ol Pejeta to Samburu
Into the drier north
Drive approximately 150 to 190 kilometres, allowing four to five hours including reserve roads. Settle in before considering a short late drive. Overnight in the Samburu area.

Day 5
Samburu
Northern Kenya specialists
Explore Samburu with your guide, looking for Grevy zebras, reticulated giraffes, gerenuks, beisa oryx and Somali ostriches. Sightings depend on conditions and wildlife movements. Overnight in the Samburu area.

Day 6
Samburu to Meru
A quieter wilderness
Allow five to seven hours for roughly 200 to 260 kilometres, with the final section depending on the Meru gate and base. The focus is the transfer, not a full afternoon safari. Overnight in the Meru area.

Day 7
Meru
Rivers, palms and open country
Spend a full day exploring Meru National Park. Look for elephants, buffalo and birdlife among its varied habitats. Routes depend on weather and the accessibility of park roads. Overnight in the Meru area.

Day 8
Meru to Nairobi
Back to the city
Return approximately 330 to 370 kilometres to Nairobi, allowing seven to nine hours with stops and traffic. Keep onward flight connections generous. An extra Nairobi night can be added if necessary.
